When to flip or mirror an image
Front cameras save selfies mirrored, so text appears backwards. Flipping fixes that, makes subjects face into a layout, creates symmetrical designs and prepares iron-on transfers that must be printed in reverse.
JPG (also called JPEG) is the most widely used photo format. It uses lossy compression to keep files small and works everywhere, but it does not support transparency and loses a little quality every time it is re-saved.
PNG is a lossless format that keeps every pixel exactly and supports transparent backgrounds. It is ideal for logos, icons, screenshots and graphics, but photos saved as PNG are often very large.
WebP is a modern image format created by Google. It supports both lossy and lossless compression plus transparency, and typically produces files 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality. All modern browsers support it.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Flipping mirrors the picture (left becomes right, or top becomes bottom). Rotating turns it around its center without mirroring.
How do I unmirror a selfie?
Choose “Flip horizontally”. Text in the photo will read correctly again.
Is this flip image tool free?
Yes. It is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks and no limits on the number of images.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Your images are processed entirely inside your browser, so they never leave your device. That makes it private and very fast, even for large files.
Can I flip many images at once?
Yes. Drop or select as many images as you like. Each one is processed in turn, and you can download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.
Does it work on iPhone, Android and Mac?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing needs to be installed.
